About this project

Ancesorg is a Colombian organization promoting sustainable development in rural communities through circular economy, environmental education, and green entrepreneurship projects. With presence in 8 departments and over 50 active communities, they needed a website to centralize their communications, facilitate volunteer and donor acquisition, and serve as a knowledge platform sharing their methodologies and results.

What needed to be solved

The site had to communicate to multiple audiences simultaneously: beneficiary communities (project information), volunteers (registration and program offerings), institutional donors (impact reports and transparency), and the general public (news and valuable content). Information architecture was the main challenge. They also needed a robust blog system to share case studies, methodologies, and industry news.

How we solved it

We designed an information architecture with 5 main sections clearly differentiated visually. For communities and projects: interactive presence map, project sheets with indicators, and downloadable resources. For volunteers: opportunity portal with filters by department and project type, registration form, and volunteer testimonials. For donors: transparency portal with financial statements, annual impact reports, and donation options. Robust blog with categories like circular economy, rural development, success stories, and news. SEO focused on "sustainable development Colombia", "environmental volunteering" and "circular economy projects".

Results

Measurable impact

The website became Ancesorg's main communication channel, replacing newsletters and PDFs. Volunteer signups grew 150%. The organization was contacted by 2 government entities that found them through the site. The blog generates 40% of new traffic, with several articles ranking in the top 3 for their keywords.
