HHDM Foundation
Website for cancer prevention foundation serving the Chocó region.
About this project
The HHDM Foundation is a nonprofit organization working on cancer prevention and early detection in the Chocó department, one of Colombia's regions with the least access to healthcare services. Their work includes health brigades, education campaigns, and patient support. They needed a website to showcase their work, facilitate donations, and allow volunteers to sign up.
What needed to be solved
Being a small foundation with limited resources, the site had to be very low maintenance cost but with high visual impact. The priority was mobile-first because 90% of internet access in Chocó is via mobile. The site needed to load fast even on 2G/3G connections. They also needed a simple donation system integrated with Colombian payment gateways and a transparency portal to publish their financial reports.
How we solved it
We developed an ultra-light WordPress site optimized for mobile with a PageSpeed score above 95. We implemented a donation system with integrated PSE payment button and recurring donation option. We created sections for: active projects, patient stories, transparency portal (reports, financial statements, certifications), and volunteer signup form. The design is warm and human, with real brigade photos, a hope-conveying color palette, and clear typography. SEO focused on "cancer foundation Colombia", "donate cancer foundation" and "health volunteering Chocó".
Measurable impact
The foundation increased donations by 70% in the first 3 months after launch. 40% of donations now arrive through the website. They received 120 volunteer signups in the first month. They secured a partnership with a pharmaceutical company that found them through the site. They obtained "Google for Nonprofits" status.
