About this project
ILSO Colombia is the official distributor of ILSO, a premium Korean skincare brand. They needed an e-commerce site that reflected the brand's premium quality, with a bilingual catalog (Spanish and English), verified review system, and a shopping experience that could compete with major marketplaces. The challenge was to create a store that conveyed luxury and trust from the first click.
What needed to be solved
The design had to be exceptional: subtle animations, carefully crafted micro-interactions, and a clear visual hierarchy. Full bilingual functionality was required: products, categories, checkout, and SEO in both languages. They also needed a purchase-verified review system to build real social proof, and SEO for terms like "Korean skincare Colombia", "K-Beauty products" and "Korean skincare routine".
How we solved it
We created a custom WooCommerce theme with premium design: elegant typography, color palette derived from ILSO's brand, GSAP animations, and a minimalist 3-step checkout flow. We implemented WPML for complete bilingual support including translated URLs and hreflang tags. We developed a custom review system that only allows verified buyers to leave reviews, with photos and aspect-based ratings. The content strategy included a bilingual blog with Korean skincare routine guides.
Measurable impact
ILSO Colombia went from 0 to 200 monthly orders in 4 months. 68% of customers leave post-purchase reviews, creating a social proof loop that reduces cart abandonment by 22%. Organic traffic grew 200%, and the site ranks in the top 3 for its main Colombian keywords.
